…but it wasn’t one of our groups. All the people are the pilgrims. There were thousands of them walking through the Old Town on their way to CzÄ™stochowa Black Madonna Sanctuary about 150 km from Krakow. Catholics from all over Poland are heading to the sanctuary to be there on 15th of August for the holiday of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Our regular groups today were much smaller. For the rainy walk of the Jewish Quarter we welcomed five walkers: a family from North Wales and two independent travellers from Girona in Spain and Brugge in Belgium.

The afternoon walk of the Old Town was strictly South African. We really enjoyed the company of three travellers from the South end of African continent
