Todays is the hottest day this week so far. Krakowians and the city visitors look for shade patches, air-conditioned rooms and water. Thanks to Krakow fire brigades we had plenty of water today. They installed real fire hoses and sprinklers on the Main Market Square and other city spots watering passers by and providing kids with great [...]

This morning outdoor thermometer columns were showing - 20 Centigrade, which means even minus temperature in Fahrenheit scale (about -4). It’s a quite difficult time for Krakow’s river birds: ducks, swans, seagulls. The only bit of the river water without ice they can find it’s next to bridge piers…

The Arctic air was an obstacle for our today’s guests… [...]

It’s probably one of the coldest weeks this winter so far. The temperature during a day is no higher than -10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit). A few days of freezing temperatures were enough to cover the Vistula River with a layer of ice…

It was a very interesting experience to meet an Aussie family travelling Central Europe, [...]

Traditional Christmas Crib Competition

December 3rd, 2009 · Posted in latest news from Krakow · 0 Comments

A traditional Christmas crib festival took place this morning on the Main Market Square right next to the Adam Mickiewicz monument. But you are going to be surprised, because you won’t see a cradle only with baby Jesus in it and traditional surrounding. The Krakow’s cribs rather look like little toy castle or churches similar to many [...]

In the morning, there was a huge crowd…
