To make Krakowians and tourists a bit warmer Krakow authorities installed all over the city coke-fired stoves. If you’re cold and don’t want to go back to your hotel room just find one of them by bus or tram stops…
Another way to warm up is to have a good walk similar the one we had [...]
It seems that the winter is well-settled in Poland and Krakow. Like in the good old times we’ll have the White Christmas, New Year’s Eve, skiing madness in the mountains and final happiness of seeing a spring sun around mid-March
Although even now you can meet those unhappy of winter after just two weeks [...]
It was one of the coldest and beautiful winter days this year so far: the Planty Park around the Old Town is one of the best  illustrations of the nature of winter…
Despite the frost and a deep snow we had two great walks today. In the morning, we toured the Jewish Quarter and the Wartime [...]
Two days ago on Monday Poland joined a club of non-smoking nations… Obviously, people still gonna smoke, but at least we’re trying to smoke a bit less. The unfriendly climate is not an obstacle for travellers from all over [...]
Today the city centre was a scene of the 9th International Cracovia Marathon with about 3 500 participants from all over the world.
Music was playing loud…
… water was flowing…
… and runners were obviously running…
Despite jogging and running around we stick to the walking tours
Today we had two regular walking tours. In the morning, we [...]
This morning outdoor thermometer columns were showing - 20 Centigrade, which means even minus temperature in Fahrenheit scale (about -4). It’s a quite difficult time for Krakow’s river birds: ducks, swans, seagulls. The only bit of the river water without ice they can find it’s next to bridge piers…
The Arctic air was an obstacle for our today’s guests… [...]
It’s probably one of the coldest weeks this winter so far. The temperature during a day is no higher than -10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit). A few days of freezing temperatures were enough to cover the Vistula River with a layer of ice…
It was a very interesting experience to meet an Aussie family travelling Central Europe, [...]
